MONTHLY MEETING

Commander Myers then proceeded to present the Commanders Award to
Brother Craig Kelly for his continuous commitment and support of the Camp.
The regular meeting was then called to order in ritualistic fashion by
Commander Hal Myers.

The minutes for the April meeting were read. A motion to accept
the Minutes was made by Joe Long and seconded by Jerry Skotleski. All were in
favor
The financial report was read by Joe Long with the following
information:
Departement has yet to cash Per Capita check
April ticket winner - Emil Siwak
A motion to accept the report was made by Giovan Lisi and seconded by
Jerry Skotleski. All were in favor.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Email from Department Secretary about the sale of mugs and tshirts at
the Department Encampment;
COMMITTEE:
Eagle Scout Coordinator Jim Jones reported that an Eagle Scout ceremony was held for Thomas Bright of Troop #111 in Waymart, PA. He was assisted by Col. Kurt Lafy, Past Camp Commander of Private Silas Gore Camp #141 of Athens, PA. It was decided that our Camp will handle the Scouts in Pike, Sullivan and part of Orange County, NY. Brother Jones has volunteered to attend Scout Courts in Orange and Rockland County, NY, if Ellis Camp #124 is unable to attend.
OLD BUSINESS:
Commander Myers reported that the Scouts have approved the project at the Bethany Cemetery and will begin on May 27, 2017. Commander Myers and others will be there. Giovan Lisi and George Gyuriska donated gloves and garden tools for the endeavor.
The meeting was then suspended and the Ladies were asked to join us for the Departed Brothers Ceremony. Those honored were:

The Ladies were than thanked for their participation and excused to return to their meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dale Keklock suggested he and Commander Myers attend the next meeting of the Historians of Sterling Township to acclimate them abour our organization. Awaiting reply from the President.
Commander Myers reported that there is not much information about our Lease situation. The County has showed interest in our plight, but no definitive details as of yet. There is alot on the table, but nothing specific. As soon as we hear anything members will be notified.
Commander Myers said that the visit by the Library, children and parents was very successful. They liked the Museum, but the commentaries by the Members were the best. Hal and Jerry O'Malley were asked to return to discuss a book on the Civil War.
Jerry Skotleski will re-contact Commissioner
Bill Gaughan about our situation. Mark Zurinski added they they are very
interested in what we do and he conducted a fact finding mission to ascertain
same.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:
Patriotic Instructor Jerry O'Malley reported on May 20, 1863, the day after the first assault on Vicksburg, MS, and ten days after the death of Stonewall Jackson.
Commander Myers commented on the atrocities
and degradation being committed about the Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
Jim Jones also added that we cannot erase history.
With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was
closed in ritualistic manner.
