MONTHLY MEETING
EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8
November 16, 2024
The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Senior Vice Commander
Tim Chase.

MINUTES:
All members received a digital copy of the Minutes twice prior to the
meeting. A motion to accept the October Minutes was made by Jim Jones and
seconded by Bill Burns. All were in favor.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Howard Wolfe gave the Camp account balance.
A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by
Dale Keklock and seconded by Bob Shaffer.
All were in favor.
EAGLE SCOUT REPORT:
Jim Jones gave an update on conferring awards to a local tropp after Bill Dixon meets the Troop members while they were performing a coin drop outside Gerrity's Supermarket in West Scranton. Jim asked Secretary Dixon to include this following message in the Minutes: "Since its inception, the SUVCW has acknowledged the achievment of today's youth in reaching the position of Eagle Scout. Each member is asked to maintain the growth of this service to youth by informing Scouts and Scout Leaders of the program by referring them to "What we Do" section of the SUVCW website at suvcw.org where there is an online application with instructions."
CORRESPONDENCE:
All Department and General Orders have been forwarded via email to
members.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dale Keklock is working with a Civil War Orphanage Group to bring them to the Museum.
A motion was made by Bill Dixon and seconded by Mark Myers to re-appoint members to the Board of the Memorial Association for a term of five years: Bob Shaffer, Howard Wolfe, Hal Myers, Jerry O'Malley, Russ Jones, Harold Bowers and Dale Keklock.
A motion was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded by Jim Jones to appoint Bob Baker to the Memorial Association.

COUNCIL - the Council will be structured to reflect the CC&R's of the Order:
3-year term Bob Shaffer

GOOD OF THE ORDER:
Jim Jones will be returning South until April and a discussion was had about exploring broadcasting a zoom feed.
A motion was made by Tim Chase and seconded by Bob Shaffer to move the December meeting to December 14th for Installation of Officers. All were in favor.
The next montly meeting will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 10am.
With no further business, the camp was closed in ritualistic manner by
Senior Vice Commander Chase.
