MONTHLY MEETING

April 12, 2025
The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Commander Tim
Chase.

All members received a digital copy of the minutes twice prior to the
meeting.
A motion to accept the March minutes was made by Jeremy Allen and
seconded by Bob Shaffer.
All were in favor.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Jerry Skotleski
stated the camp balance.
He is still waiting for the check for Bill Fischer’s
testimonial dinner to clear from Cooper’s for $400.
He will have Council member Bob Shaffer write a check to
him for the speaker from Sam’s Club.
The speaker cost was $261.82.
A motion to accept the report was made by Bob Shaffer
and seconded by Dale Keklock.
All were in favor.
SICK MEMBERS:
Commander chase informed members present that his father has been doing
much better as he recuperates from dealing with pneumonia.
APPLICATIONS:
Patrick Abdalla to join.
CORRESPONDENCE:
All communications from the Department and National have been forwarded
via email to all members.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
The Memorial Day tentative program: (Tentative program (with assigned
people so far…)
Mark from the 143rd asked
if brothers would like to join them after out at the Memorial Service in Wyoming
Saturday, May 3rd will be
Flag Detail at the Dunmore and Forest Hill Cemeteries starting at 10am.
NEW BUSINESS:
Bill Dixon made a motion to drop the following members for non-payment of dues. Jerry Skotleski seconded the motion. All were in favor.

Jerry Skotleski made a motion for the Camp to donate $500 towards the return of Lt. Griffin's sword. Bob Baker seconded the motion. All were in favor.

GOOD OF THE ORDER:
A discussion was had about the DVD that was used to play on the TV with
pictures of the veterans.
Jerry Skotleski inquired about his copy of Ken Burn’s “The Civil War”
which he had loaned to the Museum.
He may need to use it in class, and he would like it
returned to the Museum.
Council member Baker will be attending the upcoming Tunkhannock Township
Meeting to inquire about a GAR highway sign for Route 6 in the Township.
Bill Burns reminded everyone in attendance that on May 3rd
there will be a spaghetti dinner at the Marine Corp League of Scranton to
support the purchase of the sword.
Dining in and takeout will be available.
Time is 12noon to 3pm.
The next monthly meeting will be held on May 17th
at 10am.
PATRIOTIC INSTRUCTION:
Giovan Lisi gave a presentation on Medal of Honor recipient William
Harvey Kearney of the 54th
Massachusetts.
With no further business, the camp was closed in ritualistic manner by
Commander Tim Chase.
